Welcome! This is my sixth year teaching Latin at Pennsauken High School. I love teaching Latin at PHS! I enjoy exposing students to both the language and culture of the Romans - they impact our daily lives in ways many people don't even realize! I am originally from Philadelphia, although I lived in Chicago for four years. Currently, I've returned to my roots and am living in Philadelphia again. While Chicago holds a warm place in my heart, I'm definately a Philly fan all the way. Go Phillies!
Education: I graduated from West Chester University, summa cum laude with a Bachelor's degree in Latin. I am certified in both PA and NJ to teach Latin K-12 classrooms.
Professional: I am a member of the American Classical League, the Classical Association of the Atlantic States, and the New Jersey Classical Association. I am also on the Classics Club Committee, which is a part of Excellence through the Classics (sponsored by the ACL). In 2012, I received a scholarship to attend the American Classical League's Summer Institute in Las Vegas. I am the sponsor of 5 students who are members of the New Jersey Junior Classical League's Executive Board. I also sponsor PHS' Latin Club and Latin Honor Society, and am a member of the Renaissance Committee.
Personal: I have a wonderful boyfriend, CJ, whom I've been wiith for eight years. Together, we have 5 cats (Stitch, Moo Moo, Tedy, BK, and Penny) and 2 dogs (Rascal and Hunny). I enjoy reading, watching movies, cooking, gardening, anything involving nature, and even playing the occasional video game. I also have tutored over 600 hours for a private company - mostly the SAT and ACT. Most of all, I like to have fun and relax in my spare time - whether at a baseball game, at a museum, or in the comfort of my home!
